Why did Electronic Arts remove Russia from FIFA 22?

Electronic Arts, To show their solidarity with Ukrainians, Electronic Arts ( EA ) has confirmed that it will not include any Russian teams in Fifa 22. The European Union has been imposing tough sanctions on Russia since it invaded Ukraine. The measures are aimed at hurting the Russian economy

EA will remove the Russian national team from Fifa 2022. Fifa and Uefa said Russia’s national team and clubs would be prohibited from competitions. Ukraine has requested the ( EA ) video-games enterprise to do more.

“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.

“In line with our partners at Fifa [the International Federation of Association Football] and Uefa [the Union of European Football Associations], EA Sports has initiated processes to remove the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from EA Sports Fifa products including Fifa 22, Fifa Mobile and Fifa online.

“We’re also actively evaluating related changes to other areas of our games.”

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov says to all sport-development corporations and Esports platforms to block Russian and Belarusian money funds, cancel tournaments, and ban gamers.

EA also removed Russia and Belarus national teams from NHL 2022 games.
